Firefighters' called to tackle a series of bin blazes
FIREFIGHTERS were called to a series of bin fires across the borough.
The first was started deliberately in a bin store at flats in Somercotes, Laindon at 9pm on Wednesday.
Smoke from the blaze affected three properties and crews from Basildon and Orsett spent around 30-minutes putting out the fire.
Just 30-minutes later, at Whitmore Way, Basildon, several bins were set alight. Crews from Rayleigh Weir and Orsett were called to put out the fires.
