A WOMAN was left with sewage all over her garden after the flash floods.
Lynda Smith’s home, in Wyburns Avenue, Rayleigh, was swamped with raw sewage when the drain in her drive overflowed.
She described how a torrent of sewage ran past her doors and down into her garden.
Lynda said: “It rained excessively but it happens every time it’s heavy, with raw sewage forced out of the drain and down my drive way into my back garden.
“I’ve contacted Anglian Water several times and they say the blockage is cleared, but clearly it hasn’t.
“I called them numerous times on Saturday and was told it would take up to five days to remove the waste from my property and assess the drain. This is shoddy service.
“I am now worried about the impact of having toxic material strewn about my property. It’s terrible.”
An Anglian Water spokesman said: “We understand how devastating any form of flooding is to homes and businesses and our engineers are continuing to work across Essex to help customers where possible.”
