CONTROVERSIAL plans to increase the number of harmful chemicals stored on Canvey are due to be discussed at a council meeting on Monday.
Canvey Island Town Council will be discussing an application from the Oikos terminal, in Haven Road, to alter the terms of its hazardous substances consent licence.
The company claims it needs to keep a wider range of chemicals on the site to mix with petrol to meet changing fuel specifications.
At next week’s meeting, councillors will also discuss an application, by the Friends of Concord Beach, to build a freshwater shower on the Eastern Esplanade, Canvey.
Councillors will also look at an application to build three work/living units on land off the High Street.
The meeting, at the Paddocks, in Long Road, at 6.45pm, is open to the public.
