A CYCLIST was knocked to the ground by a motorist jumping a red light on a level crossing.
The cyclist approached the level crossing on London Road, Purfleet next to the station as the lights began to flash.
A silver car, following the bike closely behind, sped up in an attempt to beat the lights, and clipped the cyclist, knocking the man to the ground.
Police are now probing the incident and are appealing for the cyclist - who did not stop to leave his details - to come forward.
The incident happened at 12.20pm on Friday August 23.
