A MAN has appeared in court charged with stealing charity boxes from florists.
Stuart Korb appeared before Southend magistrates accused of taking the boxes from two shops in Leigh and Southend.
Korb, 26, of Grosvenor Road, Westcliff, is alleged to have smashed the main front window of Enchanted Florist in Leigh Road,Leigh,on June 6 and taking the box and boxes of chocolates.
The amount of cash inside the box is not known.
Korb is also accused of smashing a window in the door of Derek’s Florist,on the corner of Manners Way and Oakengrange Drive, Southend, and taking a charity box as well as the tilld rawer.
Again, the amount of cash stolen is not known. Korb spoke only to confirm his name and address and did not enter a plea to either of the two burglary charges when he appeared in the dock.
The case was committed to Basildon Crown Court until the second week in November.
Korb was released on unconditional bail.
