A ROGUES gallery of suspected shoplifters, who between them have bagged thousands of pounds worth of goods, has been released by police.

CCTV images of people suspected of stealing everything from alcohol to dishwasher tablets have been gathered together and made public.

Essex Police have launched Operation Pepper which cracks down on thieves across Rayleigh, Rochford and Castle Point.

Insp Ian Cummings said: “Any support from the public in identifying these people would be welcome. The costs of retail crime do get passed on to the consumer – it is not a victimless crime.”
