A MAN has been arrested after a major security incident on the QE2 Bridge at Dartford.

The bridge and tolls have now been closed for three hours and the M25 is in total chaos. A suspicious package has been found. 

Police have also now closed the Dartford tunnels. It is being described as a 'security incident.'

There are reports bomb disposal officers are in attendance and there is now a heavy police presence.

Police said they were called at 16:00 BST to a report that a male pedestrian was behaving unusually.

He was arrested and officers said they had found a suspicious item, leading to the closure of the crossing.

Traffic stretches back for 10 miles. People are out of their cars on the bridge trying to get a view of the security incident at the tolls.
