THE new Guinness book of records will hit shelves this weekend.
It will again document amazing human feats, natural wonders, stunning scientific discoveries and a fair few wacky stunts.
Essex has its own record breakers among the thousands committed to the history books.
Joe Elliott, of Leigh, became the fastest man to complete a marathon wearing a suit, in April this year.
And a Clacton-based theatre group achieved the fastest theatrical production.
This year chronicles the efforts of Felix Baumgartner with his headline-grabbing epic skydive and Gangnam Style grabbing a record-breaking number of Youtube hits.
The book contains more than 3,000 records, including the tallest living woman, at 7ft 7ins, and the largest Star Wars memorabilia collection, worth more than £300,000.
Craig Glenday, the Guinness World Records editor in chief, said: “We’ve managed to cram in more records and more images on every page.
“It’s been a fantastic and inspirational time for record breaking”.
The new Guinness World Records 2014 edition launches on Thursday.
