A TEENAGER is organising a huge fireworks event which is expected to raise more than £15,000 for local charities.
Ed Husselbee, 19, of Rebels Lane, Great Wakering, has taken over the running of the annual Big Beach Bang fireworks spectacular at Shoebury East Beach.
The shipping worker joined Southend Round Table after getting involved in the annual Colourthon sponsored walk which the group runs each summer.
Ed was the youngest Round Table member in the world when he joined just after his 18th birthday. He is hopingas many people as possible will go to the event, which takes place on November 2.
He said: “It’safun evening, and one of the biggest firework displays in Essex. You can come and see a firework display and give money to charity, helping people at the same time as enjoyingyourselves. It also has a fun fair and lots of fun things to do, it will be a very good evening.”
It is sponsored by a range of local businesses which help it to meet some of its costs.
The event runs from 6pm on Saturday, November 2. Tickets cost £5 in advance or £6 on the night. For more information visit bigbeachbang.com
