A MUM and her two sons were evicted by bailiffs and police for making their neighbours’ lives a misery.

The 42-year-old woman and her boys – aged 11 and 16 – were ordered to leave their housing authority home in Little Searles, Pitsea, after a string of antisocial behaviour incidents over the past two-and-a-half years.

Complaints include hurling dogs’ mess and rubbish into neighbouring gardens and noise nuisance.

The mother began clearing the house yesterday as police and officers from the London & Quadrant housing association took action.

PC Reece Darwin, of Pitsea police, who was present to oversee the eviction, said: “We have had numerous complaints of antisocial behaviour from neighbours in relation to this property.

“Antisocial behaviour really does affect people’s quality of life.

“We cannot and will not tolerate it, as this eviction – which we have worked with our partners at London & Quadrant to secure – demonstrates.”

The boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were found responsible, by a judge at Basildon County Court, of torching the back gate of a neighbour’s home.

They constantly climbed in and out of windows at their home, instead of using the front door, and were said to be the source of most of the problems at the home.

In the lead-up to the eviction, the boys were reportedly seen hurling dumb-bells from the upstairs windows of their home.

The woman’s partner, who did not live at the address, has been banned from entering Little Searles after making threats to neighbours and police.

London & Quadrant secured an eviction order and the injunction at the county court.

Police and bailiffs arrived at the home yesterday afternoon, where the mum had already begun clearing her belongings.

Some of her things were packed into the cars of friends, while furniture and other personal belongings were taken in by neighbours living opposite.

The property was then secured and will have a “legal guardian”

living there until a new tenant is found.

A spokeswoman for the housing association said: “L&Q takes antisocial behaviour very seriously and we work closely with the police and other agencies to resolve problems as a matter of urgency.”

THE mother booted out of her home for being the head of a nightmare family admitted she may have been too soft on her two sons.

The 42-year-old said both boys – aged 11 and 16 – suffered minor learning difficulties and had not been without their problems.

She said she accepted they had not always behaved themselves and could be noisy, and she had tried to avoid telling them off.

The woman said: “My family has not been without its problems, I fully admit that.

“I did let my children get away with blue murder because I didn’t want confrontation in the house and I wanted to deal with things more calmly.”

The woman, who was born and bred in Basildon, said she had been a social housing tenant in the borough all her adult life, but had never had problems at other properties.

She insisted “things would have been better”, if neighbours had tried to talk to her about her family’s behaviour, rather than complaining to the police or London & Quadrant Housing, which owns her property.

The mum said: “When I moved in, it was a bit of a stressful time.

“I had lost my dad and I had lots of personal problems and things just got on top of me.

“I had a few problems with my kids, but it settled down when I went to parenting classes.

“I think if my neighbours had spoken to me and said ‘could you do something with the children?’, things could have been different.”

The woman, who works as a carer, said she would be living out of a van for the time being, while her children and pet dogs would be staying with friends.
