A DEDICATED fundraiser has organised a charity event in memory of the tragic soldier killed in a London terror attack.
Tanya Smith, 37, has organised a sponsored walk around the Canvey seawall followed by a family fun day at the Lobster Smack pub in Haven Road on Sunday, September 22.
Ms Smith of Folksville Road was inspired to raise money for Help For Heroes following the murder of drummer Lee Rigby in south London.
The sponsored walk will be approximately ten miles long and will start and finish at the Lobster Smack. The walk starts at 9.30am and in the afternoon there will be a family fun day which will include face painting, a raffle, tombola, movie manics and cake sale.
A band, The Supersonics, will perform at 2pm.
Minimum donation for the walk is £2 for adults and £1 for children.
Drummer Lee Rigby is believed to have been wearing a help For Heroes T-shirt when he was murdered outside Woolwhich barracks.
