TAKE your dogs out for a canine extravaganza of walkies and woofs at a new dog show in Billericay.
The Friends of Lake Meadows is inviting dog owners and their pets to Bark in the Park on Saturday.
Competition categories will include most handsome dog, prettiest bitch, best rescue, best trick, waggiest tail, dog that looks most like their owner and judge’s favourite.
In addition to the competition, there will also be games for you and your four-legged friends to have a go at, including hide and seek and search and find.
The competition and exhibition of all things canine is being organised by the Friends of Lake Meadows.
Jonathan Garlick, chairman of the group, said: “ Judges on the day will be Julie Morgan, from the Essex Dog Training Centre, and Kevin Blake, Basildon Council’s cabinet member responsible for leisure and arts.
Mr Blake, who confessed to being “one of the biggest dog lovers you can imagine”, added: “I’m really looking forward to the whole day.
“Just seeing the dogs enjoying life will be great. I’m intrigued to see the tail wagging competition.”
Other higlights on the day will include a performance from the Billericay Dog Display Team and dogs can also bemicro-chipped for free at the event.
Registration is from 11am and the show starts at noon.
