A RELIEVED mum whose driveway was mistakenly dug up now has a brand new one – and revealed she was planning to have it ripped up next year anyway.
Julie Tworogal, 50, of Springwater Road, Eastwood, returned to her home to find her driveway had been dug up by workmen who had been sent to the wrong address, as revealed in the Echo last month.
The workers from Bill and Ben Driveways, in Leigh, were sent to the property by mistake by their boss Sean Cane. But they have now finished putting down a new one free-of-charge.
Julie said: “I was obviously very angry to begin with, but it wasn’t a great driveway to start with. We were going to do it next year anyway, after doing the garage first. I suppose it’s done us a favour in the end.”
She said about Sean and his team: “I get to use my driveway again, it’s lovely!
Sean has done a brilliant job, I love him. His team have been amazing. It was an accident at the end of the day and they’ve paved it all back again very quickly.
“All’s well that ends well.”
Sean and his team re-laid the driveway for free after Julie and her husband, Christopher, 37, paid for the paving slabs.
Sean, 46, said: “Julie was good as gold. She’s been our best customer and got a free driveway out of it. She’s been very forgiving about the whole thing.
“It was my fault in the end, I hold my hands up. I’ve been double checking customers’ numbers ever since.”
