LOCAL jazz favourite Graham Hunter will pay tribute to his late wife with an emotional performance on Thursday (September 26).
The Jazz Mix event, in the Maritime Room at the Cliffs Pavilion, is in aid of Havens Hospices.
Graham’s wife, Vicky who died in March, spent her last weeks being cared for at Fair Havens Hospice.
The multi-talented vocalist and musician, will be backed by his swing and jazz funk quartet, plus guests including Ken and Toni Baxter, Dave Mascall, Tim Huskisson, March Cecil and Alan Clarke.
Promoter Mick Crook, said: “Graham has been active on the Southend jazz scene for many years as a vocalist and plays a range of instruments “The evening will cover swing and bop and also funk, soul and Latin, so people should be prepared for a variety of styles, including some original compositions.
“Havens Hospices is a charitable organisation, receiving only minimal Government funding. All proceeds from the gig will go directly to Havens. All the musicians are playing for free.”
Doors open at 8pm. Admission is £8 or £4 for students.
