PROSPECTIVE secondary school pupils are being urged to go along to an open day at the Deanes School with staff keen to remind families it is still in business.
Despite the Thundersley school being threatened with closure, its staff remain determined to keep it running and are holding the open day tonight for youngsters to see what it is like for themselves.
Visitors will be able to quiz teachers and current pupils on what to expect at the school, take a tour of the building and see demonstrations and performances as well as find out more about what subjects they offer.
Staff will also be on hand to answer any questions or concerns about Essex County Council’s consultation process.
The event will take place from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at the school, in Daws Heath Road.
