A MOTORIST who swerved to avoid a woman who stepped out into the road after being assaulted is being sought by police.
Officers investigating the assault in Basildon have appealed for the potential witness to come forward.
The driver was forced to swerve to avoid a woman who stepped into the road after being assaulted.
The incident happened at Broadmayne, near Gloucester Park, at about 4pm on Friday, September 20.
Investigating officer Det Con Tony Thomas said: “This is a 50mph stretch of dual carriageway and I am sure the driver would remember having to suddenly swerve to avoid the woman.
“I would like that driver to contact me as soon as possible.”
