A 94-YEAR-OLD woman, who was hit by a car in Billericay in an accident which shut the High Street, has died.
The incident happened at High Street at about 12.50pm last Wednesday, and closed off the road for several hours.
The elderly woman, who is from Billericay, but has not been named by police, was crossing the road at traffic lights near the Iceland store when she was hit by a car.
The vehicle was a green Toyota Corolla driven bya66- year-old man, also from Billericay.
She suffered head and arm injuries and was rushed to Basildon Hospital, but was later transferred to the Royal London Hospital. Any witnesses, or anyone with information, is urged to call the police on 101.
