A mini-majorette has twirled her way to success.
Kelsea Hornsby, seven, won the overall champion trophy at the Tinsel Charity Competition, run by the UK Federation of Majorettes.
The youngster, of Second Avenue, Canvey, won the freestyle solo twirl and was runner-up in the fancy-dress fancy strut category of the competition, at the island's Paddocks centre.
Kelsea, a member of Thameside Twirlers majorette troope, said: "I was scared, because there were more than 200 other girls there, but I was happy when I won."
The Northwick Park Primary School pupil added: "You had to do a salute and then do anything you wanted, like twirling in front, down and behind your back and through your knees."
Her Mum, Colette Ellis, 33, said: "I used to be a majorette myself and to see her performing in front of all those other girls was nerve-wracking. But I was very pleased for her and impressed."
