West Ham got back to winning ways with a morale-boosting win over League One side Brighton and Hove Albion at Upton Park.
Second half goals from Mark Noble - his first for the club - Carlton Cole and Hayden Mullins gave the Irons a much-needed lift ahead of Saturday's crunch Premiership clash with Fulham.
The victory, only the third time the Hammers have scored more than once in a match this season, was no more than Alan Curbishley's team deserved after outclassing his former side.
However, the win was overshadowed by an amazing post-match rant by the Irons boss.
Instead of concentrating on his side's improved performance, Curbishley spent more than three minutes accusing the press of spinning his words and picking on Nigel Reo-Coker.
