Dale Farm campaigner Grattan Puxon is aware of Crays Hill and Smithy Fen links.

He said: "Some people at Dale Farm own land at Smithy Fen, but neither site has planning permission.

"If they were to get permission in both places, it would not be a case of one person having two homes.

"They are all extended family groups, so other family members would benefit and there is doubling up at the moment on Dale Farm, so extra plots are needed."

Richard Sheridan said he did not believe anyone from the site owned land at Cottenham.

He said: "A lot of people up there have the same name and are perhaps related. But Irish people are all over the globe."
