I agree with Councillor Dave Blackwell and resident Christine Andrews (Jan 4). Canvey residents need more support to get rid of the cruisers.
They race around Canvey at 3am keeping residents up all night.
If something is not done soon someone is going to be killed or seriously injured.
I know both myself and Christine Andrews warned the police at the last west forum meeting that they would be back if the police and council did not act.
Sadly both chose to ignore our warnings.
The police have done some good crime prevention work on Canvey, but, on this issue they have got it wrong and I have to say so did the council.
The only answer is to shut these areas off and to enforce the law. These cruisers are only coming to Canvey because of Southend Council's success in driving them out.
Come on Castle Point, do the same, drive them out. The police should get on to this too. They both have a duty to protect the residents.
