I say welcome to the real world Loretta McLachlan (Jan 2).
The residents of Westcliff, particularly the area of Station Road and the roads leading from it, have their streets covered in rubbish day after day, month after month, year after year.
Residents living in houses of multiple occupation (a problem you, Loretta, and your neighbours do not have to cope with in Thorpe Bay) dump their rubbish sacks in the street days in advance of collection.
This is mainly due to failure of landlords to provide storage space for the rubbish sacks.
In turn, these are being ripped open by foxes, rats and cats, so our streets are continually covered in rubbish.
Before complaining about the mess in the Broadway, Thorpe Bay, which I hasten to add I have visited, try doing a tour of Westcliff, then you will realise how lucky you are.
