WH Diment's comments have missed the point regarding Camp Bling (Letters, Jan 4).
What he describes as the desecration is temporary and unavoidable given the conditions they are living in for our benefit.
Or would you rather save three minutes on a road journey by spending (via the council) as much as £25million on an unneccessary scheme which will also see the site of the Prince of Prittlewell concreted over?
The campaigners' method may be primitive, but their hearts are in the right place, I wish them every success, as does anyone interested in green space, local history, and council spending.
