SCHOOLCHILDREN have been told the Easter story by people playing characters from the Bible at St Nicholas Church, Laindon.
Church volunteers took on roles including Judas, high priest Caiaphas, disciple Peter, Pontious Pilate, and Mary Magdalene to tell the story yesterday at the church, on Church Hill.
Pupils from Millhouse Junior Laindon Park Primary and James Hornsby schools all went along for the session.
The Rev Diane Ricketts said: “This is the first time we have done something like this. The Christmas story is well known, but when speaking to people, I find a lot don’t really know what Easter is about.
“We thought we would do this for the youngsters.
Now they known why we have eggs at Easter.”
