SCHOOLTEACHERS have been singing their hearts out for a children’s charity.
Staff at the King John School, in Shipwrights Drive, Thundersley, raised hundreds of pounds for Great Ormond Street Hospital by singing some karaoke classics, including Valerie by Amy Winehouse, and Black Velvet by Alannah Myles.
The event was arranged by Year 13 charity organisers James White and Abby Pollock, who first came up with the idea of raising funds through a karaoke competition.
This was then developed by the Year 8 students.
Students donated 50p and then voted for their favourite performer by donating 20p per entry.
The school is still adding up the total amount raised.
