A TEENAGER was arrested on suspicion of having a weapon and drugs while on a roof of a town centre shop.

Police were called to Choice in London Road, Hadleigh, after being alerted to four youths acting suspiciously at 10.30pm last night by an anonymous passerby.

A police helicopter was deployed to try and find the boys and with the help of officers on the ground they were traced.

A 15-year-old boy from Benfleet was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and drugs offences.

He was released on police bail until Sunday May 18 pending further enquiries.
