Despite being held to a goalless draw for the third time in their last four home games, Billericay Town stayed on course for a Ryman Premier League play-off spot with the point gained.

All three of those stalemates have been against rival clubs involved in the chase for honours and the forthcoming programme looks more appetising for Matt Jones's side.

Still unbeaten at New Lodge, they follow hosting a Horsham team looking to join the play-off mix by staging their next four home encounters against teams currently filling the bottom four positions.

But it must be pointed out that Saturday's affair was generally a disappointment for a large home crowd of 555.

The visitors, a place below Billericay and on level points but from two games more, made their intentions of coming for a draw fairly clear from the kick-off.

This was the fourth consecutive game that Town had been involved in action in which the elements played a major part.

"I thought we looked a little tired," said Jones.

"We failed to show the intensity in the visiting third that we've demonstrated in other matches recently and to be honest it looked a 0-0 draw well before the end."
