I have never seen the TV show Big Brother but have read the media reports. It seems to me voyeurism, once the preserve of the amoral, is now acceptable in modern society.

Other reports state 900,000 children watch the programme, presumably with the approval of their parents. This could well contribute to the confrontational attitudes we see in many youngsters who seek to emulate what they see on TV.

However, many parents will still not take their share of the blame for the lack of respect displayed by youngsters, safe in the knowledge "their rights" protect them from any corrective action.
