FA Cup victory over Watford tomorrow could be the perfect springboard to launch West Ham's Premiership survival bid, according to Alan Curbishley.
The Irons boss believes a positive result at Upton Park tomorrow could give his players just the lift they need ahead of their crucial league run-in.
Curbishley held up West Ham's march to last season's FA Cup final - and the positive effect it had on the Hammers' league form - as an example of what a good could cup run could do for the club.
"We're hoping it will become part of the proves of staying up," Curbishley said.
"West Ham fans, more than most, realise what a cup run can do. It galvanised the club last year."
