AN overturned car forced police to close Priory Crescent, Southend, during Monday morning rush hour.
The incident happened at around 6.20am, closing Priory Crescent and Eastern Avenue eastbound, from Cuckoo Corner.
Police were called to the scene and closed the road as staff at the nearby Cory depot helped with the clean up.
A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "Officers were called at around 6.20am to the incident, which involved a silver Ford Fiesta that ended up on its roof in the Shoebury bound track of the carriageway.
"The driver, a man in his fifties and from Shoebury, managed to get out of the vehicle.
"He is not thought to be seriously injured.
"The road has been closed and traffic is being diverted.
"Police would like to thank staff from the nearby Cory depot that helped at the scene."
The scene had been cleared and the road reopened by 8.30am.
