Mr Silk says in his response to me (Letters, Jan 19) that part of the deficiency in infrastructure in Wickford is the lack of top quality sporting facilities.
Maybe so, but his additional sporting facilities are not fundamentally crucial to our town's quality of life.
What's crucial to a town is the availability of doctors, dentists, police, school places, roads, trains and buses that aren't overcrowded, sewage works that can cope and all the other things that are really essential to our lives.
