My objections to a planning application for a fast food outlet in Tarpots, Benfleet, seem to have been misunderstood by Aubrey Stein (Letters, Jan 25).
At no time did I degenerate fast food. I simply stated given current health concerns, was the planning application a sensible one?
Tarpots currently has four fast food outlets, a Thai restaurant, a Harvester restaurant, a baker's , three small supermarkets and a newsagent's. There is also a kebab van parked there nightly.
If residents Tarpots want to buy fast food then that is their choice and there is plenty of choice.
What is needed is a good quality butcher's shop and or a greengrocer.
