Swimmer Jo-Jo Cranfield toasted her call up to the British swimming team by being named Southend Sports Council's junior sports personality of the year.
The 13-year from Leigh is part of the nine-strong GB squad competing in the Danish Open at Esbjerg in Denmark from March 9 to 11.
And on Friday night the swimmer who was born without a left arm took the honours after a superb year that saw her making waves among disabled swimmers.
"I was really happy to win the award," said Jo-Jo, who swims for Rochford & District Swimming Club.
"When I got the message to say I'd won I jumped up and down and ran around the house.
"I was not expecting to win it because I did not think Southend recognised me but now I do."
