FIRE crews extinguished a blazing van earlier this afternoon.
The fire, in Shoebury Avenue, involved a white van owned by Keith Nelson, 65, a builder from Barling.
He is in the middle of renovating the vacant property and was painting when the vehicle suddenly caught light.
Fire crews and the police attended and the blaze at 2.45pm but soon had it under control and it was put out by 3pm.
No-one was hurt in the incident and Mr Nelson was left to clear up the wreckage of his van and contemplate retiring after losing his vehicle, tools and equipment.
