ENVIRONMENTAL experts have been surveying Chobham Common to monitor the effects of climate change and atmospheric pollution.

The Surrey Wildlife Trust (SWT) has been collecting biological information from the heathland to contribute to the Environmental Change Biodiversity Network (ECBN) which looks at alterations across the country caused by global warming and other changes.

SWT is also sharing information on butterfly and bird numbers and distribution. By taking part in the network survey it hopes to access funding for a small weather station which will record atmospheric pollutants.
