A woman has been arrested after a man was stabbed in a block of flats in Southend.
Police were called at about 2.12am today to St Marys Court flats in Victoria Avenue.
A man, aged in his 40s, was stabbed.
His injuries were not life threatening and he took himself to hospital for treatment.
Officers attended the area, made a number of enquiries and arrested a 27-year-old woman on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
The woman, who is from Southend, is currently helping officers with their enquiries.
The flats have been taped off while forensics examine the scene.
A police cordon stretches from the pavement outside the block of flats, along the front of the parade of shops and encompasses the junction with Fairfax Drive.
