AN 84-year-old woman suffered a broken arm and was robbed of her Christmas cards after being attacked in Chalkwell.
The woman was walking in Ridgeway Gardens, at the junction with The Crossways, at around 4.50pm on Monday, December 21.
A man approached her from behind and grabbed her handbag, which caused her to fall over, and he ran off in the direction of The Leasway.
Police carried out extensive enquiries and a search of the area for the robber, who has yet to be found.
He is described as white, about 6ft tall and wearing a hooded jumper.
The stolen bag was described as a black leather type holdall. Inside was a navy blue leather handbag, containing a wallet with a small amount of money, bank cards and Christmas cards.
The victim was taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment.
Detectives would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened, or saw the man before or after the robbery.
