LOOKING for something to do this weekend? We've put together a list of some things happening in south Essex
1. WORK out for charity at a Basildon gym.
Fitness First, at Festival Leisure Park, is holding a fitness class on Sunday, March 20, from 3pm until 5pm.
Two classes, a high-intensity training class and a spin class, will run back to back.
They cost £5 per person, or you can do both for £8.
Proceeds will go to the Children with Cancer Charity.

2. A SCOUTS group is holding a quiz night this week.
All proceeds from the event at Moose Hall, in Cranleigh Drive, Leigh, will go towards the running of the group.
The quiz, open to teams of up to eight people, will take place from 7.30pm on Friday.
Tickets are £4 each.

3. A QUIZ night is being held on Canvey on Saturday to raise money for a church.
The event, at Winter Gardens Baptist Church, in Hilton Road, starts at 7pm.
Entry is £4 per person, with a maximum of eight people per team. Visitors can bring their own soft drinks and snacks.

4. A FUNDRAISING run will be taking place in Benfleet this weekend. Runners are being called on to take part in the Benfleet Mile, at Woodside Park, in Manor Road, as part of this year’s Sports Relief campaign.
Entrants can set off at either 10.30am or 12.30pm on Sunday. To enter, or for more information, visit sportrelief.com
5. A RESTAURANT will hold a charity event on Friday.
The Tandoori Parlour, Hart Road, Thundersley, will host the charity curry and disco night on from 7pm until midnight.
The event is being held in aid of paediatric outpatients at Southend Hospital. Tickets are £15 per person. For tickets and more information, call 01702 385421.
6. A FUNDRAISING craft fair is being held on Canvey on Saturday afternoon, from 2pm until 4pm. The event is being organised by the 4th Canvey Sea Scout group and will take place at their headquarters in Blackthorne Road.
Anyone interested in hosting a stall can book a place at the fair for £10.
Stallholders keep all their proceeds, with the cost of the pitch going towards the children who attend the group.

7. TRY out sports and raise cash for good causes at an open day.
Chase Sports and Fitness Centre, in Prittlewell Chase, Westcliff, will host a day of free sports activities, including basketball, tennis and football, plus yoga, on Saturday, March 19.
As the event falls on Sport Relief weekend, funds raised on the day will go towards that cause. It takes place from midday to 3pm.
8. LEIGH Town Council’s annual Spring Spectacular will be held this weekend.
On Saturday, March 19, at the Community Centre in Elm Road, the council will welcome visitors for arts, crafts, messy play, face painting and Easter story telling from 11am to 3pm.
There will also be stalls and entertainment including Punch and Judy, Quackers singing fun and acted story telling.
9. A HOT cross bun morning is being held at Canvey Methodist Church on Saturday. Entry is free for the event, which runs from 10.30am until 12.30pm at the church, in Waarden Road, Canvey.
As well as food, there will be stalls selling cards, crafts, books and bric-a-brac.

10. FUNDRAISERS will set up a stall in Southend’s Royals shopping centre this weekend to raise money for Southend Hospital.
There will be a large selection of hand knitted baby and children's cardigans and hand crochet blankets, lots of toys and a tombola on Saturday. All the proceeds go to keyhole cancer appeal at Southend Hospital.
