ISLANDERS came together to celebrate an Easter fun day on Canvey.
Families enjoyed arts and crafts, making Easter bonnets and a puppet show at the Canvey Methodist Church in Waarden Road on Saturday, before attending a traditional Easter service on Sunday morning.
Church worker Colin Turner said it was an enjoyable weekend with a good turnout.
He said: “About 35 adults and children came along on Saturday.
“It was supposed to be a family celebration and it was very successful.
“I want to thank everyone for coming and having such a wonderful time.”
The event, which was aimed at youngsters aged 11 and their parents, finished with a puppet show.
Easter Sunday celebrations on the island included a dawn service, followed by a cooked breakfast, at St Nicholas Church, in Long Road.
St Anne's Church, in St Anne's Road, and St Katherine's Church, in Hilton Road, also held special services.
