THE latest phone scam going round could scarily cost you hundreds of pounds - and you wouldn't even know until your bill came in.
According to the Daily Mail, victims have been hit hit with charges of over £300 for calls lasting up to 12 hours.
Victims received a call from an 08 number, ignored it - as we all do - and forgot about it.
The mobile provider sent the user a message saying that they had been using a lot of minutes.
When the monthly bill was sent to the customer, the bill was up to hundreds of pounds more expensive than what it normally was.
When the victims called up to complain to customer services, they told them that the victim called the number and the call lasted over 12 hours.
Ofcom are currently investigating - but it appears that it is industry wide and how the scam works is unclear at this moment in time.
