OUR shopping habits have changed hugely over the past three decades, and these photos of Rayleigh from the Echo archives demonstrate exactly that.
Pictures from the Seventies and Eighties, long before the birth of online shopping, show bustling independent butchers and grocers in the High Street.
But there are also some familiar brand names, with the likes of Barclays and Tesco taking their place in the town centre.
