A woman has been taken to hospital with a suspected broken ankle after falling down a flight of stairs in Leigh.
The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust received the emergency 999 call just after 9am yesterday and dispatched an ambulance crew to assist.
Medics arrived within four minutes of the call to treat the woman, believed to be in her 70s, for a suspected broken ankle before taking her to Southend University Hospital for further care.
She is thought to be in a stable condition.
