THE 50 year anniversary of a couple from Hadleigh was celebrated by more than 100 people at the Hadleigh Rotary Club.

Sandra Allen, 67, and her husband Roger, 70, of Fox Meadows in Benfleet, celebrated their gold wedding anniversary alongside 120 people including their three great grandchildren.

Sandra said: “It was absolutely wonderful, we could not have expected it to go any better.

“When we were younger, people always told us that it would not last so it is so lovely to be celebrating our 50th anniversary.”
