A council is investigating complaints that Golliwogs are being displayed behind the bar in a pub.
The White Hart Inn pub in Grays, was notified of a complaint by Thurrock Council after a punter noticed golliwogs behind the bar in the pub.
Thurrock Council confirmed a single complaint has been made, and is currently investigating the issue.
The golliwogs have reportedly been in the bar for the last three years.
A council spokesman said: “Thurrock Council received a complaint last week (Thursday 8 February) about items being displayed in a local pub.
"It is currently being investigated and therefore it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”
The pub were unable to comment at this time.
