A van caught fire outside a busy train station forcing the road to be closed.
Onlookers at Stanford-Le-Hope station, on London Road, were shocked to see a van burst into flames shortly after 11am today.
A crew of firefighters battled the blaze, and the road was closed in both directions for roughly half an hour.
The fire is now out, but the van has been left in place blocking one side of the road.
There is a slight build up of traffic in the area.
c2c Rail confirmed the incident has not caused any delays the train services.
