Essex Police officers launched the helicopter and officers were out in force last night after receiving concerns for welfare of a man in Laindon.
The search took place in and around Laindon train station at about 10pm last night.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We were contacted just before 10.20pm last night with concerns for the welfare of a man in Basildon.
"We undertook a search of the local area, which included the use of a police helicopter.
"The 27-year-old man was found and was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure."
