A TIPSY tavern themed on fairies and unicorns is going on the road.

Sharon Longshaw is set to take Tink’s Tipsy Tavern out and about to different venues.

The brightly-coloured bar, which has been decorated with sparkling fairies and unicorns, can be found inside a 7.5-tonne horse box lorry.

Sharon, of Hamstel Road, Southend, says she was delighted to make two dreams come true at the same time.

Sharon, 51, said: “I have always wanted to convert a vehicle and I also said I would run a pub when my kids grow up.

“This has allowed me to do both of those things at the same time.

“I have seen a lot of people converting vehicles, but I’m pleased to now be able to say I have got one myself.”

It took three-and-a-half months - and an estimated cost of £9,500 - for Sharon to convert the horse box lorry into a bar.

And the former garden designer, is looking forward to touring the country in Tink’s Tipsy Tavern during the summer months.

“We have got a launch event in Stambridge on May 26,” added Sharon.

“We are still trying to finalise where we are going on tour as we are reaching out to parishes in order to get bookings.

“After starting off in Essex, the plan is to go onto Suffolk and then Norfolk.

“From there, we will go wherever the invites take us.

“But the invites have not come from where I had originally expecting.

“We’ve been asked to go all over Wales, as well as to parts of Cumbria and Yorkshire.

“I’m looking forward to it and it will be interesting to see where we go on our tour, which will last until September.

“It’s actually quite a big space because it is three metres wide and seven metres long. I have seen rooms that are smaller than that.

“We have divided it up so that a third of the space is behind the bar and the other two-thirds is the space for the customers.

“We will have a full bar, which offers craft drinks and award-winning alcohol.”
