Huge plumes of black smoke are rising over Canvey after a fire has broken out.
The thick black smoke can be seen from behind Morrisons, Link Road on the island.
Fire crews were called as a pile of rubbish caught alight.
The Echo understands all people inside got out safe.
A number of residents have taken to social media to report the incident.
The road is currently blocked and firefighters are on scene.
Residents can be seen standing by the road watching.

The Echo has contacted the fire service for comment.
A Morrisons spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that a small fire broke out in the warehouse yard of our Canvey Island Store on Link Road on Saturday. It was put out quickly while everybody was evacuated. The store has reopened."
