Trust Links is a local mental health and wellbeing charity working in South East Essex to support people experiencing mental health problems. The organisation is committed to building stronger communities and promoting sustainable living and offers services such as therapeutic gardening through its Growing Together projects, counselling and peer support activities for carers in Southend, environmental, recovery and wellbeing workshops and courses including co-ordinating Reach – the South East Essex Recovery College.
Joining Junior T will be Mash It Up DJs G.Dub (Gav Hawkins) and DJ Marrsey (Michelle Marrs).
Southend man Junior T's DJing career started at age 12, when he had an interest in Grime and MCing.
He says: "My love of reggae came from my older brother educating me in where MCing had evolved from and he wanted me to listen to the postive message the reggae singers, toasters and DJs were pushing. I started listening to, collecting and playing Grime and reggae until I eventually became emerged in the depths, message and culture of the reggae sound and began collecting and searching for my favourite tracks I had heard on session recordings from dances my brother and his friends attend and recording onto cassette and mini disc."
Juniors T's radio journey started at college, and then grew when he was first approached by the then new internet radio station based in Southend, Safe Radio. Many DJ spots and residencies followed until he finally ended up at Funky SX.
His Roots & Culture Sundays show takes place every Sunday from 4 - 6pm on 103.7fm, funky.sx
See him up close and personal at Mash It Up Reggae, at the bar in London Road, Leigh.
