FLYTIPPERS have struck in the middle of a Basildon estate - and the rubbish has now been there for three weeks, according to a ward councillor.
The large pile of building waste was found in Witchards, Basildon.
Stephen Hodge, councillor for Nethermayne, said he was “aghast” when he discovered the rubbish.
He said: “I found it on my round this morning.
“I was amazed as we do not expect it in the middle of a town, they are normally in country lanes.
“They must have just pulled with a low truck and emptied it onto the green.
“Normally, fly-tippers try and hide these things, but with this they have not bothered, it is not good for the area.
“We are trying to keep up with the situation, but it is not a good look, I’m not impressed.”
Mr Hodge has reported the tip and called for its “urgent removal”.
